The 1 level Biogarden is a complete modular grow unit that supports organic hydroponics. It is a commercial marijuana growing system with dual grow beds sitting atop dual tanks. Water pumps from the lower tanks to the 18″ size by side troughs, carrying nutrients to the deep water culture or aggregate media filled grow beds. Each side is supported by separate pumps, allowing for side by side comparisions for commercial marijuana growing operators. This is ideal for comparing nutrients, flood and drain cycles and media or deep water technique.
The additional images show deep water culture on one side with an aquaculture trough on the other side, containing fish fry, duckweed and in some cells, producing algae and zooplankton.
System size, specs and estimated yield are listed on the “additional info” tab.
We classify this as a commercial marijuana growing systems though it supports all plants plus methods and techniques listed below…
Plant Growing and Fish Culture Options:
Hydroponics – Utilize lower tanks for controlled nutrient loading and aeration.
Aquaponics – Lower tanks support fin fish, upper troughs support fish fry and crustaceans plus plants.
Aquaculture – Without plants, use troughs and tanks for intensive fish culture, algae, and duckweed farming.
Worm Farming – Utilize the beds above and tank for raising worms and continuously creating worm casting tea
Bioponics – A fish optional approach. This is a 100% organic process developed at Bioponica for achieving greater sustainable growing efficiencies.
Grow Techniques Supported:
DWC Deep Water Culture – Nutrient rich water flows through tanks in serpentine fashion.
Flood and Drain with Aggregate – Use clay ball or activated media blends.
NFT Nutrient Film Technique – Utilize the Bioponica Trickle Valve to allow water to flow at lower level, carrying nutrients through bottom of trough.
Specialized Bioponica Processes:
ALT Air Layer Technique – Ebb and Flow of water to meet root level, reduces need for mechanical aeration
DIY Organic Fertilizer – Bioponica method of extracting fertilizer from green biomass
Vortex Aeration – intensive oxygenation and mixing adds characteristics of river water
Activated Media – consists of expanded slate, biochar and expanded slate.
